The good folks at Creative Control have once again documented Curren$y’s love for herbal life as his freestyle “Lemon Kush” gets the visual treatment. Off the Smokey Robinson-project Spitta’s rendition of Gucci Mane’s “Lemonade” offers his trademark laid-back flow tributing fine California herb. Tune in.

A living legend in the world of graphic design and graffiti, HypeBeast interviews Eric Haze for their latest hypebeasttv segment. Collaborator for art work for The Beastie Boys, EPMD, and Stussy to mention only a few, Haze has always been a lauded contributor in street culture.. Delving into his past and his most recent exhibition that took place last month, Haze speaks about his travels and work in the last few years. Haze also goes on to speak about his reason for starting his own initiatives and the success from becoming an early entry into the landscape of streetwear.

Paper Labels of vintage and deadstock spraypaint serves as the palette upon which the three concept bikes, four models of courier bags and three graphic t-shirts were created to showcase enduring craftsmanship and tell the story of a time when things were made locally and to last. A time before bikes became fashion and products were built to break.
The color scheme and Iconography of Paper Labels was derived from Bodega’s archive of discontinued Vintage Spraypaint which is hunted by collectors and was popularized by 80’s graffiti culture- Krylon Aqua Turquoise #2008, Krylon O.D. Khaki #2301, and Krylon Metallic Blue #1903 serves as the foundation for the bikes color schemes. Selected in part for there cult following and timeless appeal these colors serve as the basis of this design project. Additional bike graphics were referenced from vintage cans to reinforce the project’s timeless essence and cultural significance
Baileyworks, Bodega and Independent Fabrication will unveil the project Friday, February 12th 7pm at FourthWall Gallery (132 Brookline Ave. Boston MA).
For Spring 2010 DC has collaborated once again with influential French store and brand Sixpack, featuring designs from graphic artist PMKFA. Sober and monochromatic, the designs by PMKFA lure you into its psychedelic insides. Patterns are based on both the obvious and the not-so-obvious elements of street culture. Turn the shoe upside down and get an insight in PMKFA’s vision of street-entrepreneurship, taking lessons from 90’s hip hop and the idea that life is like a chess game: creativity, the need to always stay sharp, and the goal of making your next move your best move.
Two distinctive DC silhouettes, the Admiral and Sector 7, were recruited for this collection and are accompanied by premium apparel consisting of two t-shirts labeled, Oneness and Marble & Ink, and a Six Years fitted New Era Cap.
